I've been designing and making furniture, exploiting the unique properties of our native Australian hardwoods, for more years than I care to remember. To assist me in this endeavour I patented the (soon to be world famous) FlynnamiJig!

DESIGN PHILOSPHY

Furniture has to do what it's supposed to do. It has to be functional. It has to look good. It's use should be a pleasure, not a chore. Good design should make your life easier and happier. Well designed furniture will become part of your family narrative for generations

CREATIVE PHILOSPHY

When I create a piece, I assume that the purchaser won't be 'the end user'. Rather, I anticipate that the 'end user' will span several generations.

My FlynnamiJig allows me to create highly accurate mortise and tenon joints, that hold everything together. The Shane Flynn Design Atelier is a nails, screws, nuts and bolts free zone!
